We collaborated with FJ Philanthropy to refine and deliver their In Conversation With podcast series — a collection of thoughtful discussions with leaders across philanthropy, higher education, and the charitable sector. The series aims to share insight and spark conversation around giving, social impact, and the evolving role of philanthropy. Costs here are associated with episodes 1&2 - We created a template for episodes as well as short clips which was more expensive for episode 1 but very cost effective going forward.

Our role was to take the client’s existing recordings and polish them for both audio and video release. We improved sound quality, created consistent visual branding and motion graphics, and prepared versions optimised for platforms such as Spotify and YouTube. By aligning tone, visuals, and sound, we helped give the series a professional, cohesive presentation while keeping the warmth and authenticity of the original conversations.

Let's demystify the process of video production. We estimate this example to cost around £1-2k because we logged roughly:

1 day of production management which is low as we just covered of a process our client organised. As a ballpark we estimate 1/2 day management per day of shoot and edit. This could be higher for complex projects or lower if you can help with the creative or coordination. This includes scheduling, edit supervision and producing documentation such as risk assessments.

No shoot as this was post production only. We can work with assets our client provides such as images, logos and photos (lower budget), use assets from libraries of stock images, videos and graphics (medium budget) or design and produce original 2D / 3D animation (higher budget). Often we do a mix of all.

2 days of post production time. Generally the length of post production depends on the volume of footage, number of deliverable versions (eg social cuts) and rounds of revisions budgeted. This was not consecutive days as we leave gaps for client feedback.

No voiceover recorded by us. VO is very effective but requires actor fees as well as scripting, recording and editing time. We only suggest professional VO if there's not a more cost effective way to convey information such as interviews, on screen text or a recording provided by your team.

Animation / graphic design formed some of the post production. We can design simple titles or use stock animation as part of the edit process but where possible, as we did here, we suggest budgeting for original animation to elevate and brand any film.
